Indonesia Enhances Higher Education Partnership with Mongolia

Jakarta, Indonesianpost.com – The Indonesian Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology has intensified bilateral ties with the Government of Mongolia in the fields of higher education, science, and technology.

“We aim to foster stronger collaboration between universities in Indonesia and Mongolia through joint research, mobility programs, and the exchange of lecturers and professors,” stated Higher Education Minister Brian Yuliarto on Friday.

The initiative was discussed during a meeting with Mongolia’s Ambassador to Indonesia, Enkhtaivan Dashnyam, in Jakarta on Thursday.

Minister Yuliarto also expressed Indonesia’s willingness to send professors to Mongolia as part of its education diplomacy efforts.

Additionally, Yuliarto offered PhD scholarship opportunities to Mongolian lecturers, reinforcing Indonesia’s commitment to expanding higher education cooperation across Asia.

“We believe higher education can help build an inclusive, innovative, and sustainable future, serving as a bridge between Indonesia and Mongolia’s rich cultures,” he remarked.

Ambassador Dashnyam praised Indonesia’s efforts to open inclusive and sustainable cooperation pathways, noting that Mongolia views Indonesia as a promising partner in the education sector. He expressed full support for the lecturer exchange initiative and scholarship programs, and also expressed interest in visiting Indonesian universities to explore opportunities for sharing best practices and educational technologies.

Furthermore, the Indonesian government has reopened the Developing Countries Partnership Scholarship program, offering Mongolian students full-time master’s and doctoral study opportunities at various Indonesian universities. (BL/ANTARA)
