Jakarta, Indonesianpost.com – Indonesian House Speaker Puan Maharani called on the government to prioritize the safety of Indonesian citizens in the conflict zone between India and Pakistan.
“The safety of our citizens must be guaranteed, both in India and Pakistan,” Maharani stated on Thursday. She urged the government to conduct a thorough assessment of potential risks and, if necessary, evacuate Indonesians from both countries.

Although no Indonesian citizens have been reported as casualties, Maharani emphasized the state’s duty to protect its citizens in any conflict. She called for coordination between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Indonesian Defense Forces (TNI), and other relevant agencies to ensure the safety and well-being of evacuees, including providing medical support.
Maharani also expressed hope that India and Pakistan would resolve their differences through peaceful dialogue, stressing the global repercussions of the ongoing conflict and urging international efforts, including the UN, to mediate peace talks. (BL/ANTARA)
