President Prabowo Subianto on Sunday (Jan. 25) chaired a limited cabinet meeting at his private residence in Hambalang, Bogor regency, West Java, bringing together several ministers and top state officials to review the implementation of national strategic programs.
The meeting was convened within 24 hours of Prabowo’s return to Indonesia after completing a series of overseas visits to the United Kingdom, Switzerland and France earlier in the week.
Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, who attended the meeting, said discussions ran from Sunday afternoon into the night.
“Upon returning from his overseas trip, President Prabowo wanted to check the progress of several strategic programs with the relevant officials,” Teddy said in an official statement confirmed in Jakarta on Sunday evening.
He added that the meeting was attended by Coordinating Minister for Food Affairs Zulkifli Hasan, Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Bahlil Lahadalia, State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, Higher Education, Science and Technology Minister Brian Yuliarto, Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa, TNI Commander Gen. Agus Subiyanto and Deputy TNI Commander Gen. Tandyo Budi Revita, Attorney General ST Burhanuddin, National Intelligence Agency (BIN) head M. Herindra, and the cabinet secretary.
During the meeting, Prabowo received updates on program implementation and the latest developments across a number of strategic sectors. Among the items discussed was the planned establishment of the “Merah Putih” village and urban ward cooperatives, presented by Zulkifli.
Prabowo also heard updates on the energy sector, including oil and gas, delivered by Bahlil.
The President received a briefing on cooperation in higher education from Brian, while Purbaya presented an update on the latest conditions in the financial and banking sectors.
On defense, Prabowo was briefed by Defense Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin and the TNI commander. Separately, Attorney General Burhanuddin reported on enforcement efforts related to the management and control of national forest areas.
Photographs released by the Presidential Secretariat showed the limited meeting held in a roundtable format. Prabowo sat in the middle, flanked by Zulkifli on his right and Bahlil on his left.
Seated next to Bahlil were State Secretary Prasetyo, Teddy, Brian and Purbaya. On Zulkifli’s side sat Sjafrie, the TNI commander, the deputy TNI commander, BIN head Herindra and Attorney General Burhanuddin.
Across from the President sat Rizky Irmansyah, head of the President’s personal secretariat. Behind the seats of the TNI commander and the defense minister were PT Pindad president director Sigit P. Santosa and Head of the Defense Logistics Agency at the Defense Ministry Air Marshal Yusuf Jauhari.
