JAKARTA, INDONESIANPOST.COM – The Manpower Ministry will hold the G20 Labour and Employment Ministers Meeting on September 12-14, 2022, in Bali, targeting to result in an agreed ministers’ declaration, Manpower Minister Ida Fauziyah informed here on Sunday.
“Our main target is for G20 countries to agree on the G20 Labour and Employment Ministers’ declaration which had been discussed at the Employment Working Group (EWG) forum,” the minister said.
The G20 Labour and Employment Ministers Meeting (LEMM), under the G20 Indonesia’s Sherpa Track, is the ministerial-level meeting to follow up on the discussion results of the EWG meetings that have been held five times.
Some issues talked about at the meeting were sustainable job creation, work safety and health, and an inclusive labor market.
The meeting series on September 12-14 consists of the 6th G20 Employment Working Group meeting, the 2022 G20 OSHNet (Occupational Safety and Health Network) Annual Meeting, and the LEMM itself.
Earlier, the Manpower Ministry held the 1st International Conference on Manpower and Sustainable Development (IMSIDE) on September 8-9, 2022 in Bali.
“These series of meetings will be attended on-site by the G20 labor ministers, invited countries, international organizations, and several engagement groups,” Fauziyah said.
She also ensured that the ministry carried out careful preparations to make the meeting series a success.
“We would like to express our greatest gratitude to all parties, including the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin), B20 (Business 20), L20 (Labour 20), and the Bali Provincial Government, for their support for the success of this activity,” she stated.
Indonesia’s G20 Presidency in the sector of labor and employment carries the theme of “Improving the Employment Condition to Recover Together”, which is made into four priority issues discussed in the previous EWG meetings. (Antara/Theidnpost)
