No Retreat on Palestine Support, Prabowo Declares

Jakarta, Indonesianpost.com – President Prabowo Subianto has reiterated Indonesia’s unwavering commitment to Palestinian independence, declaring that the nation will never retreat from defending the rights of the Palestinian people.

The President made this firm declaration during his opening address at the 19th Session of the Parliamentary Union of the OIC Member States (PUIC) at the Indonesian Parliament building on Wednesday evening.

“Indonesia’s commitment will never stop in defending the Palestinian people’s right to independence,” Prabowo emphasized, expressing grave concern over the prolonged injustices faced by Palestinians.

Call for Concrete Action

The President challenged the international community, particularly Islamic nations, to move beyond discussions and resolutions. “Now is the time for real, concrete action—not just words. The Palestinian people have suffered for far too long,” he stressed.

He urged Muslim-majority countries to overcome internal divisions, mutual distrust, and rivalries to unite for the greater good. “Organizations like PUIC must evolve into effective platforms that deliver tangible solutions, not just rhetoric,” he added.

Constitutional Mandate for Global Justice

Prabowo highlighted that Indonesia’s Constitution explicitly mandates active participation in establishing a world order based on independence, lasting peace, and social justice.

“The PUIC was founded on the principle that Islamic nations must strengthen cooperation to address global challenges and defend the rights of Muslims worldwide,” he said, reinforcing Indonesia’s role as a consistent advocate for Palestinian rights on the international stage.

The session brought together parliamentary representatives from OIC member states to discuss pressing issues affecting the Muslim world, with Palestine remaining a central focus. (BL/Antara)
