Jakarta, Indonesianpost.com – President Prabowo Subianto highlighted the significance of the Parliamentary Union of the OIC Member States (PUIC) as a crucial forum for addressing complex global challenges. Speaking at the 19th PUIC Conference held in Jakarta, which was streamed live on YouTube, he noted that amid increasing global polarization, the PUIC remains relevant.

Prabowo emphasized that the union was created from a collective recognition of the need for Muslim countries to collaborate through parliamentary dialogue. He expressed hope that the PUIC would strengthen solidarity, promote justice, and provide solutions to global issues.
He also took pride in Indonesia hosting the 19th Session of the PUIC, addressing representatives from one-fourth of the world’s population. This year’s conference, themed “Good Governance and Strong Institutions as Pillars of Resilience,” coincides with the PUIC’s 25th anniversary and will gather approximately 450 delegates from OIC member states and observer countries.
