Jakarta, Indonesianpost.com – The Indonesian government has officially launched oil and gas production from the Forel and Terubuk fields in Natuna, Riau Islands, following a Rp10 trillion (approx. $608 million) investment by Medco E&P Natuna Energy.
Deputy Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Yuliot Tanjung confirmed the investment value on Friday, noting that the fields are expected to produce 20,000 barrels of oil per day and 60 million standard cubic feet of gas daily (MMSCFD).
“This additional production will enhance national energy security,” Tanjung said, highlighting that the project employs nearly 100% domestic workers and local components (TKDN).
