Challenging the World’s Silence: The Heroic Story of Palestine in Al-Aqsa Storm

Jakarta, Indonesianpost.com – The launch of Al-Aqsa Storm: Existence, Pride, and Humanity marks a monumental effort to reveal the untold stories of Palestinian heroism, long overshadowed by propaganda and global indifference. This groundbreaking book, a collaborative effort between the Nusantara Palestina Center (NPC) and the Center for Dialogue and Civilization Al-Sharq (CDC Al-Sharq), serves as an essential historical document in the ongoing struggle for Palestinian freedom.

The book’s most striking feature is its focus on the pivotal events of October 7, 2023—an event Muhammad Anas Lc, M.Si., Director of CDC Al-Sharq and co-author of the book, describes as a turning point in the Palestinian resistance against Israeli occupation. Anas explains, “In a matter of hours, an Israeli military division was destroyed, thousands of soldiers were killed, and hundreds were captured. This is an achievement that has never occurred since the establishment of Israel 75 years ago.”

However, this monumental victory came at a great cost. Israel’s brutal counter-offensive in Gaza, bolstered by the full support of the US-led coalition, led to devastating destruction. Despite this, Al-Aqsa Storm is not just a chronicle of violence and suffering—it is a testament to the extraordinary courage of Palestinian fighters. Anas emphasized, “This book is a portrait of resilience in the face of destruction. It speaks not just of conflict but of dignity. It is about dignity, not just territory.”

Far beyond a historical account, Al-Aqsa Storm is a moral cry to the international community, urging them to break their silence on the ongoing injustices and the humanitarian crisis in Palestine. It challenges the global powers, particularly those who have remained passive in the face of these atrocities, to acknowledge the plight of the Palestinian people.

This work calls on all humanity—not just Muslims—to take responsibility for the Palestinian cause and to recognize it as a matter of human dignity and rights. The authors of this important work—Muhammad Anas (an alumnus of Al-Azhar University and the School of Strategic and Global Studies at the University of Indonesia), Libasut Taqwa (also an alumnus of SKSG UI), and Agung Nurwijoyo (a noted international relations expert and lecturer at FISIP University of Indonesia)—have provided a comprehensive perspective, blending factual reporting, in-depth analysis, and the voices of those who have lived through the conflict.

Looking to the future, Anas shared that the book’s first edition will be followed by a second edition, as the genocidal war in Gaza continues and important issues remain uncovered. Al-Aqsa Storm thus represents not only a historical record but a commitment to documenting the ongoing struggle, ensuring that the world does not forget.

Al-Aqsa storm is a reminder that behind every rubble in Gaza, there is a story worth fighting for. ‘And that the silence of the world is part of the tragedy that must be challenged and the struggle for Palestinian independence must continue until the land of Palestine is free from Israeli occupation,’ he said.
