Jakarta, Indonesianpost.com – Retrieved from Antara, The Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) has partnered with the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) and the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology to enhance industrial research aimed at generating more job opportunities.
Shinta Kamdani, Deputy Head Coordinator for Human Development, Culture, and Sustainable Development at Kadin, emphasized the importance of research synergy in supporting the transition towards a sustainable green economy, particularly in the energy sector.
“This collaboration is a significant effort to ensure that industries are able to harness technology effectively. We strongly believe that technology plays a pivotal role,” she said during a statement on Wednesday.
Kamdani further noted that Kadin and BRIN are committed to expanding their cooperation into other industrial sectors in the future.
“Beyond technology, access to financing and skilled human resources are essential. With new technologies, we can create more employment opportunities,” she added.
Ilham Habibie, Deputy Chair of Research and Technology at Kadin, highlighted that strengthening research and development is critical for Indonesia’s ambition to become a developed nation.

“We can’t rely solely on our natural resources. We must enhance what we can produce by adding value to those resources. For this, downstreaming, value addition, and technological advancement are crucial,” Habibie explained.
BRIN Head Laksana Tri Handoko also stressed the need for active participation from business players in the research ecosystem, as it will significantly contribute to the potential for downstream development.
“Our current focus is on the food, energy, and health sectors,” he said.
Mohammad Fauzan Adziman, Director General of Research and Development at the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology, underlined the role of university research in addressing the needs of the community.
He pointed out that collaboration between universities and industries will accelerate the application of research findings.
“If universities can solve industry challenges, their research outcomes will be more rapidly adopted by the community. Collaboration is key,” he added. (BL)
