President Joko Widodo’s successor, President Prabowo Subianto, arrived at Zurich International Airport, Switzerland, on Wednesday (Jan. 21, 2026) at around 5:55 p.m. local time to begin a series of important engagements during his working visit to Switzerland.

Upon arrival at the foot of the aircraft stairs, Prabowo was warmly welcomed by Indonesia’s Ambassador to the Swiss Confederation, I Gede Ngurah Swajaya, and Defense Attaché to the Embassy of Indonesia in Paris, Air First Marshal Hendra Gunawan. The presidential aircraft carrying Prabowo and his entourage had earlier departed from Stansted Airport in London, United Kingdom, and completed a flight of approximately one hour and thirty minutes before landing in Zurich. During the flight, the President was accompanied by Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya.

From the airport, Prabowo and his limited entourage proceeded directly to the hotel where they would be staying during the Swiss visit. Throughout this visit, the head of state is scheduled to attend and actively participate in the 2026 World Economic Forum (WEF) Annual Meeting held in Davos.

According to Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, President Prabowo will deliver a keynote address before more than 65 heads of state and government and over 1,000 global corporate CEOs. Teddy revealed that Prabowo’s anticipated address will center on the economic ideas and principles he has formulated and implemented both prior to and during his presidency.

“In essence, the President will speak about the economic concepts he has envisioned and realized—those he developed before assuming office and continued to pursue during his first year of leadership. He will also highlight the achievements of the Indonesian government over the past year. He calls this concept Prabowonomics—you’ll see it unveiled tomorrow,” Teddy explained.

The World Economic Forum is an international, non-profit organization built on a multi-stakeholder foundation that promotes cooperation among global leaders to tackle pressing global challenges through dialogue and cross-sector collaboration.

The 2026 WEF Annual Meeting, themed “A Spirit of Dialogue,” underscores the importance of open and collaborative engagement amid economic uncertainties and evolving geopolitical dynamics.

Indonesia’s participation in the WEF 2026 marks a strategic moment to reaffirm its position within the global supply chain, enhance its international investment reputation, and attract investor commitments across sectors such as green energy, digital economy, and other strategic industries.

Alongside the main forum, Indonesia is also hosting the Indonesia Pavilion from January 19 to 23, 2026, and Indonesia Night on January 21, 2026, serving as platforms for direct engagement and network expansion to further drive investment into the country.

President Prabowo’s presence at the WEF Annual Meeting 2026 underscores Indonesia’s commitment to active participation in global dialogue and multilateral cooperation, while simultaneously championing national interests amid ongoing global challenges and uncertainties.
