Jakarta, Indonesianpost.com – The Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs has taken firm action against several Facebook groups found to be sharing incest-related pornographic content, following a wave of public outrage.

“We have contacted Meta, the operator of Facebook, regarding these groups,” said Deputy Minister Angga Raka Prabowo during a press briefing on Friday.

One of the groups in question, Fantasi Sedarah (Incest Fantasy), reportedly had thousands of members sharing explicit and deviant content. News of its existence triggered widespread condemnation across the country.

In response to the ministry’s complaint, Meta removed access to six Facebook groups hosting similar content. Prabowo also called on other social media platforms to actively address such violations.

“These groups are deeply disturbing and must not be tolerated. They are inhumane. Law enforcement must identify and take action against those behind them,” he stated.

The ministry emphasized that the dissemination of content promoting incest is a severe violation of public norms and national laws.

Alexander Sabar, Director General for Digital Space Monitoring at the ministry, stressed that the crackdown is part of efforts to protect children from harmful online content that could endanger their mental and emotional development.

“We have coordinated promptly with Meta to block content that violates societal values. These groups represent a serious breach of children’s rights,” Sabar said.

He added that the ministry will intensify monitoring efforts and foster stronger collaboration across sectors to maintain a safe and healthy digital ecosystem.

The public is also encouraged to report inappropriate or harmful content through the official platform aduankonten.id. (BL/Antara)
