Jakarta, Indonesianpost.com – PT Pupuk Indonesia (Persero) is ready to distribute 9.55 million tons of subsidized fertilizer allocation in 2024. This follows the publication of Decree of the Minister of Agriculture (Kepmentan) Number 249 of 2024 and Regulation of the Minister of Agriculture (Permentan) Number 01 of 2024 on Amendments to Permentan Number 10 in 2024.
Under this new rule, the government decided there are three types of subsidized fertilizers, namely Urea, NPK, and Organic. Especially organic fertilizers, their use is prioritized in the central areas of rice commodities in paddy fields with organic C content of less than 2 percent.
“Pupuk Indonesia as a state-owned enterprise mandated to produce and distribute fertilizer subsidized by the Government is ready to distribute subsidized fertilizers to registered farmers amounting to 9.55 million tons in 2024,” said Pupuk Indonesia Marketing Director, Tri Wahyudi Saleh in a written statement in Jakarta, Thursday (2/5/2024).
Based on Decision No. 249 of 2024, Tri continued, the government has set the allocation of fertilizer subsidies to 9.55 million tons or a 2-fold increase from the previous 4.7 million tons. As for the allocation of the subsidy, the subsidy is aimed at three types, namely Urea, NPK, and a new one is Organic fertilizers.
“Looking in more detail, urea fertilizer is set at 4,634,626 tons, NPK fertilizer at 4,415,374 tons including Special Formula NPK fertilizer, and Organic fertilizer at 500 thousand tons,” Tri said.
Tri said that the entire region on average experienced an increase in fertilizer subsidy allocation, for example, the West Java region to 1,211,550 tons, Central Java to 1,514,402 tons, East Java to 1,920,074 tons, South Sulawesi to 798,233 tons, Lampung to 803,719 tons. Tri said that all this allocation could be used by registered farmers or farmers who meet the criteria according to Order No. 01 of 2024 that is to belong to the Farmers Group and are registered in the electronic definitive plan of needs of the group
This subsidized fertilizer is intended for farmers engaged in farming subsectors of food crops such as rice, corn, and soybeans, subsectors of horticultural crops such as chili peppers, onions, and garlic, and plantation subsectors such as folk sugar cane, cocoa, and coffee with a cultivated land area of up to 2 hectares including farmers who are members of the Forest Village Community Institution (LMDH) in accordance with the provisions of the provisions statutory regulation.
Under this new rule, Electronic Plan Definitive Needs Group (e- RDKK) can be evaluated once every four months in the current year. In other words, says Tri, farmers who have not yet received an allocation could input on the registration process at the evaluation process in the current year.

While organic fertilizers will be produced by production partners spread across different regions. With this capacity, Pupuk Indonesia has become one of the important pillars in supporting national food security.
Thus, Tri conveys that to all registered farmers in order to be able to immediately redeem at the official kiosk easily through the i-Pubers (Subsidized Fertilizer Integration) application.
Tri calls on all designated distributors and official kiosks to assist socialization regarding the addition of this subsidized fertilizer allocation as well as the support of Local, provincial, and district/municipal Governments in its implementation so that these fertilizer subsidies can help agricultural production programs in the context of food security.
“We are ready to produce and distribute subsidised fertiliser given that our production capacity could meet as per the allocation of fertiliser subsidies set by the Government,” Mr Tri said.
