Jakarta Regional House of Representatives (DPRD) deputy speaker Rany Mauliani has said the Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS) 2026 is making a positive contribution to economic growth, particularly to the national automotive industry.

“The series of events at IIMS certainly attracts visitors and has an impact on economic circulation, including the tourism sector and MSMEs,” Rany said in Jakarta on Thursday.

She said IIMS 2026 has shown significant progress compared with previous years, both in terms of the exhibition’s scale and the level of participation from industry players.

This, she added, reflects the strength of the automotive sector as one of the engines of the economy, with Jakarta among the regions benefiting from increased economic activity throughout the event.

“This year’s IIMS is indeed bigger, with more vehicles and more brands taking part,” she said.

A total of 62 four-wheeled and two-wheeled vehicle brands are participating in IIMS 2026. The show also features around 190 supporting tenants. The strong participation, she said, has the potential to stimulate economic activity across sectors—from manufacturing and trade to services.

Rany also highlighted the variety of side events held during the exhibition. The accompanying programs, she said, help draw more visitors and further boost economic turnover, including for tourism businesses and MSMEs.

“There are also many supporting activities—entertainment, sports facilities and more,” Rany said after attending the IIMS 2026 opening ceremony at JIExpo Kemayoran.
