24 Indonesian Ambassadorial Candidates Successfully Complete Fit and Proper Test
Jakarta, Indonesianpost.com – Retrieved from Antara, Commission I of the Indonesian House of Representatives has concluded the fit and proper test for 24 candidates who are set to become ambassadors, leading Indonesian Embassies (KBRI) in various countries and serving as Indonesia’s Permanent Representatives to international organizations.
The test, which took place from Saturday to Sunday, was conducted behind closed doors, and the results will be submitted to the leadership of the Indonesian House of Representatives for further action.
Budisatrio Djiwandono, Deputy Chairman of Commission I, expressed satisfaction with the process, stating, “I am confident that the selection of ambassadorial candidates chosen by the Indonesian President has undergone a thorough evaluation and careful consideration.”

He emphasized that many of the candidates possess strong qualities, citing their extensive diplomatic experience, whether through previous roles or their service as ambassadors with well-established networks.
Meanwhile, Dave Laksono, Deputy Chairman of Commission I, noted that in addition to career diplomats, some of the ambassadorial candidates also come from backgrounds in business, politics, and even the military.
“From both my personal perspective and the faction’s view, we believe they are ready to proceed to the next stage,” he said.
Among the ambassadorial candidates who took part in the fit and proper test on Saturday were Abdul Kadir Jailani, Redianto Heru Nurcahyo, Umar Hadi, Hotmangaradja Pandjaitan, Nurmala Kartini Pandjaitan Sjahrir, and Dwisuryo Indroyono Soesilo.
On Sunday, other candidates who participated included Andi Rahardian, Imam As’ari, Listyowati, Kuncoro Giri Waseso, Raden Dato Iman Kusumo, Gina Yoginda, Yusron Bahauddin Ambary, Lukman Hakim Siregar, Berlian Helmy, Haei Prabowo, Okto Dorinua Damanik, and Andi Rachmianto. (BL)
