Khartoum 29 October: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Republic of Sudan strongly condemned — in the strongest terms —the horrific terrorist crimes committed by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia in the city of Al-Fashir, the capital of North Darfur State. The statement stressed that the militia had carried out, and continues to carry out, acts of ethnically motivated killing and systematic terror against unarmed civilians, including women, children, and the elderly, in shocking scenes that the perpetrators themselves proudly and shamelessly documented, exposing their criminal nature that thrives on bloodshed and terrorism.

The ministry said the Dagalo terrorist militia had long planned this genocide by laying siege and starving the residents of Al-Fashir for more than two and a half years, culminating in a horrific massacre that adds yet another chapter to the militia’s dark record of atrocities and violations extending from El Geneina to the villages and countryside of Al-Jazira State.

It added that the terrorist militia’s war against Sudanese citizens constitutes a grave precedent in the world’s genocide record, rendering the militia a symbol of ethnic cleansing and mass extermination of innocent civilians. The statement emphasized that wherever this militia sets foot, killing, destruction, and terror follow.

Al-Fashir is the capital of North Darfur State and a key humanitarian hub. Rapid Support Forces (RSF) emerged from former armed groups in Darfur and have been accused of genocidal crimes. Since 2023, the Sudan conflict has displaced millions and intensified ethnic targeting, particularly in Darfur, drawing international concern for mass atrocities.

According to the Press Statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Republic of Sudan, the Government of Sudan repeatedly warned the international community about the dangers of silence and inaction, calling for the implementation of United Nations Security Council Resolution No. 2736 (2024). However, the absence of international political will emboldened this terrorist militia — granting it the green light to defy international law and divine principles, to continue shedding innocent blood, destroying cities, and violating the dignity of honorable citizens.

The statement accused certain states of politicizing the Sudanese crisis and pursuing narrow political and economic interests instead of adopting a moral and humanitarian stance. It said such bias directly contributed to the massacre in Al-Fashir, whose innocent residents have now become victims of the failure of international will and of double standards that deny Sudanese citizens justice and the human rights that the international community frequently claims to uphold.

The ministry said the Government and people of Sudan mourn the victims of the Al-Fashir massacre, and affirmed — in alignment with the address delivered yesterday by His Excellency the President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council and Commander-in-Chief of the Sudanese Armed Forces — that the Sudanese Armed Forces, together with all regular forces in their various formations, and with the full support of the Sudanese people, will continue fulfilling their constitutional duty to protect the nation’s citizens, defend the sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity of the country, and employ all legitimate means to deter this terrorist militia, restore security and stability, and achieve a just and lasting peace that meets the aspirations of the Sudanese people throughout the whole country.

The statement concluded that the crimes of this militia shall not go unpunished and reiterated Sudan’s determination to pursue accountability for all perpetrators of killings, terror, and genocide.
