Tygo spins off from the Extraction universe, kicked off by Chris Hemsworth in 2020. The franchise has since expanded to South Korea, leading to this Tygo production.
The film follows Tygo (played by Don Lee), a former child soldier turned mercenary, diving into a revenge mission against Korea’s criminal underworld after a botched operation.
Tygo (Ma Dong-seok) grew up as a war orphan and now scrapes by as a mercenary in war zones, living just to survive.
As a mercenary, he leads a tight-knit team, including Ria (Lalisa Manobal), who’s like family and a close friend. They’ve endured tough, dangerous days together since Ria was a kid.
When Tygo and his crew take on a high-stakes mission, Ria gets kidnapped by crime boss Arman Choi (Lee Jin-uk). Tygo launches a life-risking rescue.
Tygo is penned by Cha Woo-jin and directed by Lee Sang-young, who helmed The Roundup and The Roundup: No Way Out.
Fans can catch Ma Dong-seok, Lisa BLACKPINK, and Lee Jin-uk’s action in Tygo on Netflix later this year.
The film comes from writer Cha Woo-jin and director Lee Sang-young, the minds behind The Roundup and The Roundup: No Way Out.
