InJourney Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) has signed a cooperation agreement with PT Angkasa Pura Support (APS) as part of its commitment to expand the absorption of local workers in the Mandalika Special Economic Zone (SEZ) in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB).

“This is also a strategic step to strengthen service quality and operational readiness in The Mandalika, as an international sportainment destination,” ITDC operations director Troy Warokka said in Central Lombok on Thursday.

He said the collaboration was not only focused on ensuring consistently high service standards across the area, but also on delivering tangible socioeconomic benefits for communities in surrounding buffer villages.

“The collaboration with Angkasa Pura Support is part of ITDC’s efforts to ensure service standards in The Mandalika, while opening up job opportunities and strengthening the role of local communities as part of a sustainable area management ecosystem,” he said.

The partnership reflects a shared commitment to maintaining standards of cleanliness, security, comfort and operational sustainability as tourism activity rises and The Mandalika hosts more national and international-scale events.

The cooperation has been maintained consistently since 2022, beginning with support for security services during the MotoGP, including Tier 2 security for the official test phase and the main event.

The collaboration was then continued and reinforced in the 2023–2025 period through security services for The Mandalika area, mechanical, electrical, plumbing and civil (MEP) works, as well as support for cleaning services, waste management and security for the 2024 and 2025 MotoGP events.

Entering 2026, the continuity of the partnership was reaffirmed through the signing of three new agreements covering landscape maintenance along provincial road access and the eastern zone of the area, maintenance and cleanliness of common areas in The Mandalika’s western zone, and operational driver services for The Mandalika office.

“All of these scopes of work directly absorb workers from villages surrounding The Mandalika,” he said.

Angkasa Pura Support acting operations director Shintauli Tinambunan underscored the company’s commitment to implementing the cooperation professionally while prioritizing social impact and sustainability.

“The trust given by ITDC is a mandate we will carry out with full responsibility. In addition to ensuring service quality and operations in The Mandalika, we are also committed to encouraging the involvement of local workers as part of sustainable area management,” she said.
