The president made this statement during a bilateral meeting with Singaporean Prime Minister Lawrence Wong on the sidelines of the 46th ASEAN Summit in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on Monday.

He emphasized that both countries have a wide range of opportunities to enhance cooperation, which would, in turn, strengthen their bilateral relationship. “There are many areas we can explore together to further develop our partnership,” he said.

On a broader scale, Prabowo also discussed the importance of ASEAN member states strengthening their unity and cohesion in response to current global geopolitics and economic trends. “With ASEAN, we have both strength in numbers and capacity. We also have our own domestic and regional markets. These factors give us a considerable advantage,” he added.

Earlier, President Prabowo held a similar discussion with Laotian Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone, where they explored opportunities to boost trade between Indonesia and Laos.

Accompanying President Prabowo to both meetings were Foreign Affairs Minister Sugiono, Investment and Downstreaming Minister Rosan Perkasa Roeslani, Agriculture Minister Andi Amran Sulaiman, Trade Minister Budi Santoso, and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya. (BL)
