Jakarta, Indonesianpost.com – Anies Baswedan visited the headquarters of the Democratic Party’s Central Executive Board (DPP Demokrat). During the visit, Anies praised Democratic Party Chairman Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) as a bright star in Indonesia’s sky.
Initially, Anies expressed his impressions every time he visited the DPP Demokrat. Anies said he always remembered the time when Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) was President of Indonesia.

“Every time I visit the DPP Democratic Party, especially when I have a special meeting with the high council, we remember the time of Pak SBY, when the Democratic Party consistently set an example in maintaining democracy, both when in power and when balancing power,” said Anies at the DPP Demokrat, Proclamation Street, Central Jakarta, on Thursday (2/3/2023).
Anies said SBY was the first president elected directly by the people in the 2004 general election. Anies also mentioned that during his presidency, SBY not only maintained democracy but also ethics and neutrality in democracy.
“This may not be separate from the fact that Mr. SBY was the first President of Indonesia to be directly elected by the people in the 2004 democracy celebration at that time,” said Anies.
“And during his tenure as a leader in this country, Mr. SBY not only maintained democratic rules but also democratic ethics. Maintaining neutrality in law enforcement and neutrality in the process of power transition,” said Anies.
Therefore, according to Anies, the discussion with AHY was about efforts to uphold democracy. Anies then praised AHY.
“That is why every time I have a discussion with Mas AHY (AHY’s nickname), with all the ranks of the Democratic Party, our conversation is always colored by efforts to uphold democracy,” said Anies.

Anies praised AHY as one of the nation’s best sons and a bright star in Indonesia’s sky. Anies also considered the Democratic Party to be in the right hands under AHY’s leadership.
“Including today, today Mas AHY as one of the nation’s best sons, a bright star in Indonesia’s sky, has become the successor to Pak SBY’s leadership in the Democratic Party. What I can say now is that the Democratic Party is in good hands,” said Anies.
