Touching Moment: Grandfather Harun, 119 Years Old, the Oldest Hajj Pilgrim in Indonesia, Arrives in Pamekasan
Jakarta, Indonesianpost.com – Grandfather Harun (119), the oldest Hajj pilgrim in Indonesia from Bangbetok Village, Proppo District, Pamekasan Regency, Madura, arrived in his hometown on Thursday (7/6) morning at around 06:00 AM local time.
Upon his arrival after performing the Hajj pilgrimage in the Holy Land, Grandfather Harun was greeted with tears of joy by his family and relatives as he disembarked from bus cluster 6 in front of the Bupati’s Pendopo, Kabupaten Street.

Now, Hajj Harun can smile widely after being embraced and kissed by his grandchildren and relatives. His face radiates happiness because his dream of performing the Hajj pilgrimage to the Holy Land has been fulfilled.
“Alhamdulillah, my grandfather arrived safely from his departure until his return to Pamekasan. His dream of performing the Hajj has been fulfilled. I am very happy and grateful,” said Mutammam, Harun’s grandson, with tears of joy streaming down his face.
He and his family have long prepared all the necessary equipment to welcome Grandfather Harun back from the Holy Land, from the procession of cars to the dishes for the guests who will visit Harun’s house.

“All of his grandchildren and family members have been preparing all the necessary equipment to welcome Grandfather Harun’s arrival,” he explained.
Meanwhile, the Head of Hajj Implementation at the Ministry of Religious Affairs in Pamekasan stated that Hajj Harun, the oldest Hajj pilgrim in Indonesia at 119 years old, arrived in Pamekasan by boarding bus cluster 6 and disembarking in front of the Bupati’s Pendopo.
“Hajj Harun, 119 years old, the oldest Hajj pilgrim in Indonesia, has arrived in good health,” said Abdul Halim, the Head of Hajj Implementation at the Ministry of Religious Affairs in Pamekasan.
According to him, out of the 1,049 Hajj pilgrims from Pamekasan, some clusters have already arrived in their hometowns, while others are still in the process of returning to the homeland.
“The return of Hajj pilgrims from Pamekasan is being carried out gradually, with cluster 1 arriving today and cluster 86 expected to arrive on Friday, August 4, 2023,” he concluded.
