Jakarta, Indonesianpost.com – Hundreds of supporters of the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) gathered in protest on Monday, November 4, 2024, in an event known as the 411 Rally, demanding immediate legal action against former President Joko Widodo, or Jokowi, and the arrest of the person behind the controversial “Fufufafa” account.
The account, believed by some to be linked to Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka, has become the focus of intense scrutiny and anger among demonstrators. The rally, held at the iconic Horse Statue roundabout in Central Jakarta, resonated with impassioned calls for justice and accountability.
“Prosecute Jokowi, arrest Fufufafa,” chanted one of the rally’s orators, amplifying the demands echoed by hundreds in the crowd.
In his address, FPI Chair Muhammad bin Husein Alatas highlighted a series of alleged infractions, including accusations that Jokowi manipulated the process behind Gibran’s recent political nomination. Alatas further called on Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto to take decisive steps against these alleged abuses of power and to investigate the identity behind the Fufufafa account.
“Pak Prabowo must respond firmly to these transgressions and take action against the hateful rhetoric spread by Fufufafa,” urged Alatas, pointing to a broader concern about the implications of the account’s posts.
Alatas also brought attention to the KM 50 incident, a case that remains a painful and unresolved human rights issue. The incident, which involved the fatal shooting of six FPI members by police on the Cikampek Toll Road on December 7, 2020, during Jokowi’s presidency, has become a key point of contention among human rights advocates.
“The KM 50 case represents a grave human rights violation that occurred under Jokowi’s administration and deserves a comprehensive investigation to deliver justice to the victims,” he emphasized.
