Health Ministry Aims to Provide Free Checkups at 200,000 Schools in July
Jakarta, Indonesianpost.com – Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin announced plans to provide free health screenings (CKG) at 200,000 schools starting in July 2025. The move aims to accelerate the government’s target of reaching 300,000 participants per day.
Speaking at a public discussion on Saturday, Sadikin stated that since its launch in February, the CKG program has reached 5.8 million people. However, he acknowledged that the daily participation rate—currently at 180,000 or around 4 million per month—is still below expectations.
“To boost participation, we will expand the program to schools,” he said.
The CKG program is part of a broader government initiative to ensure universal health screening. President Prabowo Subianto has instructed that all Indonesians be included in the program. In response, the Ministry of Health is increasing outreach by targeting students as a key demographic.

Sadikin highlighted that the CKG initiative is the largest public health program in Indonesia, aiming to screen all 280 million citizens. In comparison, the government’s free nutritious meal (MBG) program targets 82.9 million people annually.
“We need to serve citizens from birth to death. Currently, we reach 180,000 people per day; our goal is to push that number to 300,000 daily,” he said.
The CKG program includes three main categories: Birthday CKG (free health checks available on one’s birthday), School CKG, and CKG for pregnant women and toddlers. Birthday CKG services are available for children under six and adults aged 18 and above.
The minister emphasized the importance of early detection in reducing treatment costs, noting that tailored examinations are provided for each group. (BL/Antara)
