Jakarta, Indonesianpost.com – Reported by Antara, Jakarta Police have mobilized 3,270 officers to secure the 2026 World Cup Qualifier, Asian Zone Group C, between Indonesia and China at Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) Main Stadium in Jakarta on Thursday evening.

According to Jakarta Police’s Head of Public Relations, Senior Commissioner Ade Ary Syam Indradi, the personnel deployment includes 2,678 officers from the Regional Task Force (Satgasda), 254 from the Resort Task Force (Satgasres), and 338 officers from the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), National Police Headquarters, and local government.

The police will implement a national-scale traffic management plan, anticipating potential issues on-site. Indradi also called on match attendees to behave in an orderly, peaceful, and sportsmanlike manner.

“Please refrain from bringing sharp objects, alcohol, or any prohibited items. Follow the security personnel’s instructions and consider arriving early to avoid traffic congestion and layered security checks,” he advised.

Thursday’s match is crucial for Indonesia’s World Cup qualification campaign in the Asian Zone Group C. The Indonesian team, currently in fourth place with nine points, will face China, who are at the bottom of the group. With only two wins and six losses, China remains mathematically in contention for the fourth round, although their chances are slim.

For Indonesia, securing three points is essential to remain competitive in the race, as they need to finish at least fourth in the group standings to advance to the next phase. (BL)
