US and Indonesia Ink US$34 Billion Worth of Strategic Deals
Jakarta, Indonesianpost.com – Reported by Antara, Indonesian and US business leaders have signed commercial agreements worth US\$34 billion in key strategic sectors, as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen economic ties between the two nations.
The agreements were formalized during a high-level business meeting hosted by the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs and the Indonesian Embassy in Washington, D.C., on Monday, July 7.
In a statement released on Wednesday, Airlangga Hartarto, the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, reaffirmed Indonesia’s commitment to enhancing cooperation with the United States, which includes discussions aimed at reaching a trade tariff agreement.
“The economic partnership between Indonesia and the US has remained strong over time and should be sustained. This includes a commitment from Indonesian businesses to purchase high-quality US products in sectors such as agriculture and energy, totaling US\$34 billion,” Minister Hartarto said.
The agreements, detailed in various memoranda of understanding, are expected to open new avenues for cooperation and further strengthen bilateral economic relations, Hartarto added.

Sade Bimantara, Chargé d’Affaires at the Indonesian Embassy in Washington, emphasized that the partnership would create thousands of quality jobs, support Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), and foster greater exchange of knowledge and technology between the two countries.
During the meeting, the Indonesian government highlighted its dedication to building a long-term, mutually beneficial relationship with the US, based on mutual respect and shared development goals.
Indonesia is optimistic about shaping a forward-looking economic relationship that will benefit both nations and contribute to regional and global prosperity.
The strategic commercial agreements cover vital sectors such as energy and agriculture.
Notable companies present at the meeting included representatives from PT Pertamina, PT Busana Apparel Group (representing the Indonesian Textile Association), FKS Group, Sorini Agro Asia Corporindo (a member of the Indonesian Corn Refining Producers Association), and the Indonesian Wheat Flour Producers Association.
