The National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas) Bali has joined hands with Finns Beach Club to bolster emergency response services at tourist destinations by utilizing a search and rescue helicopter equipped for aerial evacuation without the need for landing.

The Head of the Denpasar Class A Search and Rescue Office, I Nyoman Sidakarya, said on Saturday in Badung Regency that this collaboration, which involves the helicopter owned by PT Sayap Garuda Indah (SGI) Bali, reflects their shared commitment to improving emergency “response time” and ensuring a greater sense of safety for both domestic and international visitors in Bali.

He emphasized that the support of one Bell 412 helicopter owned by SGI would significantly enhance rescue operations in difficult terrain.

“The helicopter is equipped with a hoist system that enables rescuers to be lowered directly to the location, allowing victims to be evacuated without the aircraft landing,” he explained.

Basarnas will also deploy a team of rescuers with specialized skills to support the operation.

The agency expressed gratitude to the management of Finns Beach Club for their operational support of SGI, which enables the SAR helicopter to be dedicated to emergency preparedness across Bali Province.

The collaboration is expected to bring tangible benefits not only to Finns Beach Club visitors but also to all tourists and the wider Balinese community.

With helicopter support as the fastest mode of evacuation currently available, the synergy between SGI and Basarnas is expected to improve both the speed and effectiveness of SAR operations and humanitarian missions across the Island of the Gods.

Sidakarya expressed confidence that the introduction of this helicopter marks a significant milestone in strengthening Bali’s emergency response system, particularly in coastal areas and high-traffic tourist destinations.

The SAR helicopter initiative is made possible through full funding and operational support from Finns Beach Club and will be operated by SGI, a Bali-based search and rescue organization long active in carrying out land and sea rescue missions.

With the addition of this aerial asset, response speed and evacuation capacity are expected to increase significantly—especially in challenging terrain or large-scale emergency situations.

Basarnas and Finns Beach Club also signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to affirm their shared commitment between the private sector and the government in strengthening Bali’s emergency response ecosystem.

In implementing the initiative, Nusa Medica also participated as a medical services partner, providing essential health support for SAR operations conducted jointly by SGI and Basarnas.

To mark the collaboration, Basarnas, SGI, and Finns Beach Club held a live sea rescue simulation.
