Jakarta – The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) has forecast rainfall across most areas of Jakarta on Monday, with showers expected from late afternoon into the evening.
According to BMKG’s official Instagram account, @infobmkg, moderate rainfall is predicted to begin at around 4 p.m. local time in West Jakarta, Central Jakarta, South Jakarta, and East Jakarta. Meanwhile, North Jakarta is expected to experience light rain, while the Thousand Islands regency will remain mostly cloudy.
The moderate rainfall is expected to persist into the evening, particularly at around 7 p.m., affecting the same regions—West, Central, South, and East Jakarta. North Jakarta is again forecast to receive lighter rainfall, while cloudy conditions will continue over the Thousand Islands.
By late evening, around 10 p.m. until early Tuesday morning, weather conditions are expected to gradually improve. Clear skies are forecast in Central, South, East, and North Jakarta, while West Jakarta is likely to experience partly cloudy conditions. The Thousand Islands are expected to remain under cloudy skies.
Earlier in the day, at around 7 a.m., several areas such as West Jakarta, Central Jakarta, and North Jakarta experienced partly cloudy weather. However, haze was reported in the Thousand Islands, East Jakarta, and South Jakarta.
By midday, around 1 p.m., cloud cover is expected to dominate much of the capital, including West Jakarta, North Jakarta, and the Thousand Islands. East Jakarta is forecast to experience thick cloud cover, while hazy conditions are predicted in North Jakarta.
BMKG estimates that temperatures across Jakarta will range between 24 and 30 degrees Celsius throughout the day, with wind speeds varying from 1 to 20 kilometers per hour.
