Indonesia hands over G20 DIN chair to India

BALI, INDONESIANPOST.COM – Indonesia symbolically handed over the continuation of the G20 Digital Innovation Network (DIN) to India, which will host the G20 Presidency in 2023, while officially closing the DIN gathering here on Sunday.

The Indonesian Ministry of Communication and Informatics’ Director General of Informatics Applications Samuel Abrijani Pangerapan symbolically handed over the DIN chair to the Under Secretary of India’s Ministry of External Affairs Naman Upadhyaya,

“I believe that collaboration is key for the global startup ecosystem development and we hope that the true legacy of these three-day Digital Innovation Network events discussing innovation and collaboration could spread around the world. We hope that there will be a continuation of all our efforts during this event in the future presidency,” Pangerapan said,

G20 Digital Innovation Network is part of the Digital Economy Working Group (DEWG), under the Sherpa Track. This year it was held in Nusa Dua, Bali Province, from September 2 to 4, and aimed to foster cooperation among public and private innovation players, startups, and corporates on a global scale.

Meanwhile, Upadhyaya in his remarks lauded the implementation of the 2022 G20 DIN event in Indonesia.

He commented that the event had given a new perspective on the global startup ecosystem and digital innovation development amid the global digital transformation.

“The presence of so many startups and venture capitalists here showcases the successful organization of digital innovations network, and I would like to comment and congratulate  Indonesia for successfully organizing it,” Upadhyaya remarked.

Upadhyaya added that India in its G20 Presidency next year will also raise some of the topics that Indonesia has brought to the G20 Presidency in 2022, especially regarding digital transformation.

The discussion topics include digital technology innovation, cyber and digital security, digital connectivity, and digital literacy.

It is hoped that with these discussions, there will be more ideas and solutions to answer global challenges in the current digitalization era, he added.
