Public Transport Recommended as EXO Concert, Sports and Festivals Fill GBK This Weekend

Jakarta – Jakarta’s Transportation Agency has urged residents to prioritize public transportation when traveling to events at the Gelora Bung Karno complex this weekend, including the EXO concert.

“Using public transportation is the most effective option to avoid traffic congestion around event venues,” Transportation Agency head Budi Awaluddin said in a statement issued in Jakarta on Friday.

He said the GBK area is connected to a range of public transit services, including Transjakarta routes stopping at Senayan Bank Jakarta bus stop. These include route 1 connecting Kota and Blok M, operating on Saturday from 12 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. and on Sunday from 7 a.m. to 11:59 p.m., as well as route 1F linking Palmerah Station and Bundaran Senayan, operating on Saturday from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. and on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Other services serving the area include route 1W from Blok M to Ancol, operating on Saturday from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. and on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., and route 3F from Kalideres to Senayan Bank Jakarta, operating on Saturday from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. and on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Additional routes include 6M from Manggarai Station to Blok M, operating on Saturday from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. and on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., as well as 6V from Ragunan to Senayan Bank Jakarta, which runs on the same schedule.

The agency also listed route 9C from Pinang Ranti to Bundaran Senayan and route 10H from Tanjung Priok to Bundaran Senayan, both operating on Saturday from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. and on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Transjakarta services stopping at the Gelora Bung Karno 2 bus stop are also available, including route 1N from Tanah Abang to Blok M, operating on Saturday from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. and on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Meanwhile, route 1P from Senen to Blok M and route 6D from Tebet Station to Bundaran Senayan will also operate on Saturday from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. and on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.

In addition, MRT Jakarta serves the area through Istora Mandiri Station, with operating hours from 5 a.m. to midnight.

Budi also urged residents with no business in the GBK area to avoid roads surrounding the complex and adjust their travel plans in line with traffic arrangements in effect during the events.

A number of national and international events scheduled at GBK this weekend are expected to draw about 37,800 visitors on June 6 and 43,000 on June 7, 2026.

The events include EXO Planet #6 ExhOrizon in Jakarta at Indonesia Arena, Raisa Live Concert “Love & Let Go” at JICC Plenary Hall, the Polytron Indonesia Open 2026 at Istora Senayan, Festival Jamu Nusantara 2026 at Hutan Kota GBK, Hero E-Sport PUBG at Tennis Indoor, Indofest 2026 at JICC Hall B, along with several other activities taking place across the GBK complex and surrounding areas.
