Jakarta – Indonesia’s U18 Women’s National Basketball Team secured a convincing victory over Singapore in the 2026 FIBA U18 Women’s Asia Cup SEABA Qualifiers, held at STI West Negros University Gym in Bacolod, the Philippines, on Tuesday.
Indonesia delivered a strong performance to defeat Singapore 66-49, according to official FIBA records.
Ariqa Shafa Chayyara led the scoring for Indonesia with 14 points. She was followed by Inez Angelina Welly, who contributed 11 points along with six rebounds and five assists, while Joanne Giovanni added 10 points to the tally.
The win carries significant importance for Indonesia as they prepare for tougher challenges ahead, with Vietnam next on their schedule.
Indonesia is set to face Vietnam on Thursday (June 4), followed by a match against Thailand the next day, and will conclude the group stage against the Philippines on Saturday (June 6).
The team brought 12 players to the tournament and is led by head coach Amin Prihantono.
Prior to the tournament, a rigorous selection process was conducted, starting with 76 players before narrowing down to the final 12-member squad.
