JAKARTA, INDONESIAN POST — Efforts to strengthen ties between Indonesia and the Arab world continue to expand across multiple channels, including media, education, socio-culture, and humanitarian sectors.
One such effort is being spearheaded by Indonesia Alyoum, an Arabic-language media outlet in Indonesia, through an exploratory strategic partnership with the Muslim World League in Jakarta.
This exploration took place during a visit by the Indonesia Alyoum executive board to the Muslim World League Representative Office in Jakarta on Thursday (Sept. 3, 2026).
Led by Editor-in-Chief Muhammad Anas and accompanied by Buyung Wijaya Kusuma, the Indonesia Alyoum delegation was warmly received by the Director of the Muslim World League Office in Indonesia, H.E. Abdulrahman Al-Khayyath.
The meeting was also attended by the Leader of the Tazakka Modern Islamic Boarding School, Anizar Masyhadi.
During the discussion, Abdulrahman Al-Khayyath outlined several strategic programs initiated by the Muslim World League that hold strong potential for collaboration with Indonesia Alyoum.
Focusing on Four Key Sectors

The partnership discussions centered around four main sectors: socio-culture, education, humanitarian aid, and media.
These four areas offer vast room for collaboration, particularly in fostering better communication and information exchange between Indonesian society and the Arab world.
In the media sector, for example, the partnership aims to broaden the distribution of Indonesian news to Arab audiences while simultaneously introducing the latest developments and dynamics of the Arab world to Indonesians.
Meanwhile, in education and socio-culture, the collaboration will serve as a platform to enhance the exchange of knowledge, experiences, and positive civic values.
Furthermore, the humanitarian sector remains a crucial avenue for driving social initiatives that deliver direct benefits to the community.
Media as a Bridge Between Indonesia and the Arab World

Muhammad Anas expressed his deep appreciation for the Muslim World League’s contributions to various initiatives across Indonesia.
He also extended his gratitude to Abdulrahman Al-Khayyath and his team for their warm welcome and openness to establishing meaningful dialogue with Indonesia Alyoum.
According to Anas, Indonesia’s relationship with the Arab world can be cultivated beyond formal diplomatic channels by leveraging media, education, cultural exchange, and humanitarian work.
Therefore, this meeting is expected to serve as a gateway for developing concrete programs that unite the shared potential of Indonesia and the Arab world.
The partnership between Indonesia Alyoum and the Muslim World League is ultimately expected to widen the space for dialogue, boost information exchange, and deliver journalism that bridges the gap between the Indonesian public and Arab nations.
This exploratory meeting is part of a broader commitment to strengthen Indonesia-Arab relations through constructive collaboration, specifically targeting media, education, socio-cultural, and humanitarian sectors.
