Makkah, Indonesianpost.com – Reported by Antara, Religious Affairs Minister Nasaruddin Umar revealed that Indonesia’s Hajj pilgrims have earned widespread praise from multiple nations for their discipline and orderliness during this year’s pilgrimage in the Holy Land.

Speaking on Wednesday, the minister shared that his counterparts from India, Pakistan, and the Philippines had personally commended Indonesia’s Hajj management, expressing their desire to learn from the country’s system.

“They told me directly that Indonesia, despite sending the largest number of pilgrims, remains the most organized,” Nasaruddin said. “The ministers from India and Pakistan even called Indonesia ‘inspiring.’”

The appreciation extended beyond Asia, with Egypt and Jordan also acknowledging the patience and discipline of Indonesian pilgrims. According to Nasaruddin, Jordan’s religious affairs minister specifically highlighted the pilgrims’ calm and orderly conduct.

Saudi Arabia, the host country, has consistently recognized Indonesia’s Hajj operations with annual awards for smooth execution. “The Saudi government deeply appreciates our pilgrims,” Nasaruddin noted. “Their special attention to our citizens is unmatched.”

One notable privilege granted to Indonesia was exclusive ambulance access to pilgrim tents—a critical health service that proved lifesaving, particularly during the peak of Hajj in Arafah. “No other country’s ambulances were allowed in the tent area except ours,” the minister said. “This was a tremendous advantage for our pilgrims’ safety.”

Nasaruddin attributed the success of Indonesia’s Hajj services to strong collaboration between Hajj officers, government agencies, and other stakeholders. However, he emphasized that the pilgrims’ own discipline played the most crucial role. “Without their compliance, none of this would have been possible,” he said.

Looking ahead, the minister expressed optimism that the international recognition would motivate further improvements in Hajj services. “This is both an honor and a responsibility,” he added. “We must continue to uphold this standard in the years to come.” (BL)
