Held as part of the broader initiatives of the third Umrah and Ziyarah Forum, the gathering brought together numerous Saudi and Indonesian Umrah agencies and over 400 delegates representing a wide array of sectors within the pilgrimage services ecosystem.

Prior to the main event, Dr. Al-Rabiah received a high-level Indonesian delegation led by the Republic of Indonesia’s Minister of Hajj and Umrah, Dr. Muhammad Irfan Yusuf. During the reception, Dr. Al-Rabiah underscored the strategic importance of bolstering cooperation with Indonesian enterprises to enrich and elevate the spiritual journey of Indonesian pilgrims. Notably, the Kingdom welcomes more than one million Indonesian Umrah performers annually.

The bilateral gathering aimed to strengthen institutional cooperation between regulatory bodies overseeing the Umrah sector in Indonesia and their service-provider counterparts in Saudi Arabia. By enhancing institutional coordination and unifying operational procedures, the initiative seeks to significantly improve the overall experience and quality of care provided to the Guests of Allah traveling from Indonesia.

Alongside the meetings, an accompanying exhibition was held featuring 24 entities. These exhibitors represented leading service providers across transportation, hospitality, cultural enrichment destinations, and other vital sectors linked to the Umrah and visitation ecosystem. The exhibition offered a dynamic platform to showcase innovative services, operational solutions, and new initiatives, while exploring opportunities for deeper market integration.

The program also featured specialized workshops with active participation from Indonesian representatives. These sessions tackled several pivotal topics, most notably strategies for integrating Islamic historical sites and cultural destinations into standard Umrah itineraries, as well as addressing the operational challenges associated with such expansions. Furthermore, participants analyzed the behaviors, preferences, and expectations of Indonesian pilgrims to help design customized Umrah packages tailored precisely to their needs.

This landmark meeting serves as a direct extension of the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah’s ongoing efforts to solidify partnerships with international stakeholders and raise the level of coordination across the sector.
