AIT Thailand Offers Royal Thai Government Scholarships for Asian Students

Indonesian students eyeing an overseas degree can apply for the Royal Thai Government (RTG) Scholarships, also known as the Royal Thai Government Scholarship program. The application window is open until March $31$, $2026$.

The Royal Thai Government Scholarships are administered by the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT). The RTG program is available to eligible candidates pursuing master’s (S2) and doctoral (S3) degrees.

According to AIT’s official website, the scholarship offers an opportunity to study and conduct research in an international environment alongside students from across Asia and beyond. During their studies, awardees will also live on AIT’s residential campus, widely regarded as one of Southeast Asia’s leading technology institutions.

• Untuk program S2
  Each scholarship covers tuition fees, accommodation, and a living allowance on AIT’s campus for the full duration of the master’s program, which runs for $22$ months. The non-binding estimated value per student is approximately $1.10$ million baht.

• Untuk program S3
  Each scholarship covers tuition fees, registration fees, accommodation, and a living allowance on AIT’s campus for $41$ months (a full $7$-semester PhD program). The non-binding estimated value per student is approximately $1.96$ million baht.

1. Beasiswa Raja untuk Program S2
   Syarat:

• Must be from an Asian country

• Must demonstrate an excellent undergraduate academic record

• Must be interested in pursuing their first master’s degree in any academic program offered by the School of Infrastructure, the School of Engineering and Technology, and the School of Management

2. Beasiswa Ratu untuk Program S2
   Syarat:

• Must be from an Asian country

• Must demonstrate an excellent undergraduate academic record

• Must be interested in pursuing their first master’s degree in any academic program offered by the School of Environment, Resources and Development, the School of Climate Change and Sustainable Development, and the School of Public Policy

3. Beasiswa Loom Nam Khong Pijai untuk Program S2
   This scholarship is provided in honor of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn. It aims to support human resource development in six Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS) areas: Cambodia, southern China (Yunnan and Guangxi provinces), Laos, Myanmar, Vietnam, and Thailand.

The program supports development across four fields:

• Infrastructure development

• Energy technology

• Oil, gas, and natural resources development

• Environmental engineering and management

Syarat:

• Must have an outstanding academic record from a $4$-year undergraduate program at an accredited institution in a relevant field; GPA for the bachelor’s degree must be $\ge 3.5$ or equivalent

• Must meet AIT Language Center English requirements (IELTS $6.0$ overall and writing, or AIT EET $\ge 6.0$)

4. Beasiswa Raja untuk Program S3
   Syarat:

• Must be from Bhutan, Laos, Timor-Leste, Thailand, ASEAN countries, BIMSTEC countries, and other Asian countries

• Must have an outstanding academic record from a $4$-year bachelor’s program and a $2$-year master’s program at an accredited institution in a relevant field; GPA for both bachelor’s and master’s degrees must be $\ge 3.5$ or equivalent

• Two letters of recommendation

• A research proposal

• Must meet AIT Language Center English requirements (IELTS $6.0$ overall and writing, or AIT EET $\ge 6.0$)
