Israel Continues Attacks on Lebanon, 56 Dead in 24 Hours

Jakarta – At least 56 people were killed and 103 others injured in Israeli attacks across Lebanon within the past 24 hours, the Lebanese Health Ministry said.
The ministry reported on Tuesday, May 26, that 3,213 civilians had been killed and 9,737 others injured since March 2 as a result of ongoing Israeli military operations.
“On May 27, the total number of fatalities from Israeli aggression reached 3,269, with 9,840 others wounded,” the ministry said on Wednesday.
Lebanese military sources told RIA Novosti that Israeli fighter jets struck 47 towns and villages in southern and eastern Lebanon on Wednesday.
The strikes mainly targeted major urban centers including Nabatieh and Tyre, as well as several areas in the Bekaa Valley, the sources added.
On April 16, Lebanon and Israel held their first direct talks at the ambassadorial level in Washington. Following the meeting, United States President Donald Trump announced that both sides had agreed to a ceasefire.
Despite the formal agreement, Israel has continued to launch daily attacks on dozens of settlements in southern Lebanon and maintain fire control over several border areas.
Lebanon’s Hezbollah movement has carried out military operations against Israeli forces in response to the ongoing situation.
