Jakarta – Saudi Arabia has strongly condemned Iran following reported attacks targeting Kuwait and Bahrain, warning that such actions threaten regional stability and maritime security in the strategic Strait of Hormuz.

In a statement issued on Sunday (June 28, 2026), the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed firm rejection of what it described as Iran’s “aggressive actions.” The Kingdom emphasized that the attacks constitute a violation of international law and the United Nations Charter.

The ministry warned that such violations risk undermining ongoing international efforts aimed at restoring peace and stability across the Gulf region.

Saudi Arabia also reaffirmed its full solidarity with Kuwait and Bahrain, pledging support for any measures taken by both nations to safeguard their sovereignty and national security.

Earlier, Bahrain’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a separate statement condemning what it said were Iranian drone strikes targeting its territory.

“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expresses Bahrain’s strong condemnation of attacks carried out using multiple Iranian drones,” the statement said, as reported by the official Bahrain News Agency (BNA).

Bahrain accused Iran of weakening ongoing peace initiatives through the attacks and held Tehran responsible for escalating tensions in the region.

Meanwhile, the United States Central Command (CENTCOM) confirmed on Friday that it had conducted strikes against Iranian targets. The action was described as a response to a suspected attack on a commercial vessel in the Strait of Hormuz a day earlier.

In retaliation, Iranian forces reportedly launched attacks on several US military facilities across the Middle East, further intensifying an already volatile situation.
